Description

Hand-painted French faience plate in Gien’s 200-year-old Renaissance Fond Bleu pattern. A central cartouche holds an urn overflowing with luscious oranges surrounded by fanciful scrollwork. Eight lobes boast mythical winged birds. Chain-link design distinguishes each lobe. Marked "Gien France" with a company castle mark used from 1960 through 1971.
