Description

Entirely hand-painted 1940s French faience centerpiece bowl in Gien’s 200-year old Renaissance pattern. Cherubs and angels mingle with mythical creatures amid urns overflowing with fruit and flowers. Striking stylized scroll work and ochre chain link borders also adorn this bowl. Sapphire blue background. Marked "Gien France" with the castle mark used by the company from 1941 through 1950.
