Description
Set of four 19th-century Japanese hand-painted Imari porcelain bowls. Imari is a style of porcelain named after the Japanese port from which it was shipped from, beginning in the late 17th century. The Imari palette revolved around three main colors–a blue underglaze, rusty reddish-orange, and a brilliant gold. Imari-ware took its design cues from colorful Japanese textiles of the day such as exotic landscapes and birds. For decorative use only. Stand not Included. Age wear.
